SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said the Air Force has been put on alert for evacuation as large-scale rescue and relief operations continue in Chashoti, Kishtwar, following the devastating cloudburst.
In a post on X, the LG said men and machinery have been deployed at the site, with additional teams rushed to assist. “Briefed Hon’ble Union Home Minister Amit Shah on rescue and relief operations by various agencies. He has assured all possible assistance. I want to assure all the affected families that the government stands shoulder to shoulder with them in this hour of crisis,” Sinha said.

The LG added that he is constantly monitoring the situation, while rescue agencies work round-the-clock to trace the missing and assist survivors.
