SRINAGAR: The District Magistrate of Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), has ordered a complete ban on the sale of petrol and diesel in bottles, cans, or any unauthorised containers across the district.
DM Kishtwar issued an order which read, “Citing serious threats to public safety and potential fire hazards,” stating that petrol pumps and fuelling stations were reportedly selling fuel in such containers, which is illegal and dangerous. The order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, has come into immediate effect.
“Any person or fuel station found violating this order will face strict action under law,” the District Magistrate said.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, has been directed to ensure full enforcement. The order has been communicated through public platforms and official notice boards of all concerned offices for widespread awareness. (JKNS)
