The Kishtwar -Sinthan-Islamabad road in south Kashmir was thrown open for tourists on Sunday. the road was officially thrown open for vehicular traffic on Friday, after remaining closed for around six months due to a heavy snowfall.

Reports said that the road is now open for the tourists after clearance of snow at Sinthan Top, many light vehicles have passed the Sinthan Top and also moved towards Kishtwar on Sunday.

The road usually opens for traffic in the first week of April. It was closed in November onwards.

Pertinently, the Sinthan Top and its adjacent areas received heavy snowfall this winter due to which the road remained closed
