Reacting to the high court decision regarding Dr Qasim’s case, JKLF has said that the decisions about political prisoners of Jammu Kashmir are always political and taken by the governments. commenting on the decision of court about Dr Mohammad Qasim in which court has ordered to keep him in jail for life long period, JKLF said that without going into the legal course, JKLF has always said that the decisions about the political prisoners have nothing to do with legality but these decisions are always politically motivated and taken by the governments.

“Dr Mohammad Qasim has served more than 20 years of his life in jail. His health is fast deteriorating. Even many authorities in this connection have recommended for his release but ironically government is bent upon prolonging his jail life,” said a JKLF statement and added that JKLF is of the opinion that the decision of putting Dr Qasim in jail for life is a politically motivated decision.
