Srinagar: Two militants have been killed so far during an encounter between government forces and militants in Larnoo kokernag village of district Islamabad on Tuesday.
The firefight commenced during search operation when the militants fired towards the forces at Larnoo –Kokernag this morning, army sources said.
They said the operation was going on when last reports were received.
Sources said that one of the slain militants has been identified as Mohammad Furhan Wani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani. Wani, according to sources, was active since June 2017.
“So far 2 terrorists killed in encounter at Pehlipora Larnoo Kukernag. joint team of army/CAPF, J&K Police on the job (sic)”, DGP Tweeted.
