SRINAGAR: The body of one more army personnel, who had been missing since a gunfight erupted in the Gadole area of Anantnag where the security forces are trying to neutralise holed-up militants, has been recovered. With this, the death toll in the Anantnag encounter has reached five.

Quoting an official, GNS reported that the body of a missing Army personnel Pradeep who had been missing alongside Major Ashish during the Gadole Kokarnag encounter, was recovered on Monday near the encounter site and is subsequently being transported back. .

Earlier, two army officers and an officer of J&K police were killed in the gunfight in a forest area in Kokernag on September 13, while an army personnel injured in the gunfight  succumbed to his injuries on September 15.

The operation in the rugged mountains with thick forests around continued for the six the consecutive day on Monday.
