SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various parts of Budgam, Srinagar, and Gurez from June 16 to 18, 2025 to facilitate critical infrastructure works.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 KV Budgam SIDCO Tap line will be observed to enable the erection of 13-metre ST Poles for a 2×1.6 MVA ESIC Hospital opposite the NIFT Ompora SIDCO site. As a result, the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at SIDCO and Railway Station Budgam will remain non-functional, disrupting electricity supply to Ompora, Housing Colony, NIFT and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on June 16.
To facilitate the installation of a 100 KVA Distribution Transformer at Pokhri Sazgaripora, KPDCL has also scheduled a shutdown of the 33 KV Khanyar and 33 KV Baghi Ali Mardan Khan Takanwari lines. This will affect power to areas including Miskeenbagh, Rosebal, Hazaribagh, Kondebal, Hasnabad, Jogi Lanker, Palpora, Sangam, and JLNM Hospital on June 16 and 18 from 10:30 AM to 04:00 PM.
Additionally, maintenance and tree branch-cutting activities on the 33 KV Nagam line will require the shutdown of Receiving Stations at Char-I, Char-II, Hafroo, and Nagam. Power supply to Kakawring, Yousmarg, Char Town, Rakhe, ITI, Tilsera, Alamdar Colony, Badipora, Hayatpora, Bizgoo, Loolipora and surrounding areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on June 16.
Similarly, the 33 KV Panzan Tap line will be taken offline for maintenance, resulting in power disruption to Ranger, Lalgam, Gadsatoo, Kathair Gund, and Panzan from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on the same day.
In a separate development, to extend grid connectivity to KhopriHajin village in Gurez, KPDCL will shut down the 33 KV Bandipora-Gurez line. The Dawar Receiving Station will be affected, leading to outages in Dawar, Wampora, Achoora, Markoot, Churwan and nearby villages from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on June 17 and 18.
Furthermore, to enable the fixing of GI cross arms along the 11 KV line in the 33 KV Nowbugh Char-i-Sharief and 11 KV F5 Chadoora Budgam composite circuit, shutdown of the 33 KV Nowbugh-Chadoora line has been planned. The Receiving Stations at Chadoora, Panzan, and Ranger will be offline, affecting Sogam, Rapora, Dawlatpora, Chadoora Hospital, Wathoora and surrounding areas between 10:00 AM and 01:00 PM on June 16.
Simultaneously, shutdown of the 33 KV Nowbugh-Charar-i-Sharief line will impact Receiving Stations at Charar-i-Sharief, Hafroo, and Nagam. Consequently, areas including Yousmarg, Charar-i-Sharief, ITI, Shrine, Tilsera, Badipora, Loolipora, and others will experience outages from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM on the same day.
KPDCL has urged residents in the affected areas to remain informed and make necessary arrangements during the specified hours of power outage.
