SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has informed that a series of planned shutdowns across multiple grid stations and 33 kV transmission lines will be carried out between 05 May 16, 2026 and 06 June 07, 2026 for essential maintenance works, resulting in temporary disruption of electricity supply across several districts of Kashmir.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 132/33 kV Grid Station Amargarh will be observed from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on May 17, 2026, affecting a wide belt of Sopore and adjoining areas. These include Panzipora, Tarzoo, Hygam, Shair Colony, Arampora, Mahrajpora, Bugoo, Police Station Sopore, ADC Watlab, Hathlangoo, Warpora, Dooru, Shiva, Tujjar, Sharief Shrine, Nowpora, Mazbugh, Reban, Achabal, Doabgah, Ferozpora, Panzulla, Shutloo, Chakloo, Ladoora, Nadihal, Gurseer, Pethseer, PHE installations, Fruit Mandi Sopore, LIS Ladoora, Dangiwacha, Hachipora, Hadipora, Watrigam, Safalpora, Ganapora, Seelu, Bomai, Seer, Ruhama and adjoining areas.
Similarly, shutdown of 33 kV Arampora–Handwara Town line, 33 kV Arampora–Handwara Old line and 33 kV Arampora–Kupwara Old line will be observed from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on May 18, 2026, affecting Marathgam, Chogal, Handwara Town, Kulangam, Zachaldara, Changimulla, Rajpora, Wadipora, Hangah, Haril, Batagund, entire Lolab Valley, Machil Valley and adjoining areas.
Likewise, shutdown of the 33 kV Nehalpora–Pattan–Amargarh line will be carried out on May 17, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, affecting Pattan, Palhalan, Nehalpora, Hanjiwera, Trama, Hamray, Tapper, Wanigam, Lolipora, Cold Store, Hyderbeigh, Flour Mill, North End Hospital, Railway installations and adjoining areas.
Similarly, the 33 kV Nehalpora–HMT line will remain under shutdown on May 18, May 20 and May 25, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, affecting Kalsari, Singhpora, Duslipora, SKUAST, SSM, Mirgund, Ramilgarh, Shadipora and adjoining areas.
Further, shutdown of the 33 kV Delina–Wagoora line will be observed on May 19 and May 21, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, affecting Wagoora, Kawcheck, Mangam, Watergam, Kreeri, Saloosa, Hospital areas, Sangrama, Nowpora, Boosu, Cold Store and adjoining localities.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33 kV Delina–Kreeri Tapline will be carried out on May 21 and May 25, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, affecting Kreeri, Saloosa, Hospital and adjoining areas.
Likewise, the 33 kV Alasteng Power House line will be shut on May 17, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM, affecting Beehama, Arampora, Arch, Nunner, Manigam, Duderhama, Malshaibagh, Wayil, Gultibagh and adjoining areas.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33 kV Kangan–Surfaw line and 33 kV Kangan–Kangan line will be observed on May 16, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM, affecting Gund, Kullan, Gagangeer, Sonamarg, Fraw, Ganiwan, Mammer, Wangath, Kangan, Akhal, Babanagri, Canal and adjoining areas.
Likewise, the 33 kV Kangan–Wussan line will be shut on May 19, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM, affecting Wussan, Preng, Manigam, Haripora and adjoining areas.
In industrial areas, shutdown of the 33 kV Khunmoh SIDCO-III line will be observed on May 24, 2026 and June 07, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM, affecting cement plants including SAIFCO, KHYBER and TCI MAX.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33 kV Khunmoh SIDCO-II line will be carried out on May 31, 2026, affecting the Industrial Area Khunmoh.
The 33 kV Khunmoh SIDCO-I line will remain affected on June 14 and June 28, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM, impacting Khunmoh, Wuyan, Balhama, Zaffran Colony, Chak Sangri, JKAP Befina, TCI Wuyen and adjoining areas.
Further, shutdown of the 33 kV Pampore–Badamibagh line and Panthachowk–Pampore line will be observed on June 03, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM, affecting Sonwar, Shivpora, Indranagar, Badamibagh, Panthachowk, Lasjan, Summerbugh, Government Press, Flour Mills and adjoining areas.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora–Soura–SKIMS line will be carried out on June 15, 2026, affecting Soura, Zoonimar, Nowshera, Buchpora, Anchar and adjoining areas.
Likewise, the 33 kV Habak–Owantabhawan–SKIMS line will be shut on June 17, 2026, affecting Lal Bazar, Ontabhawan and adjoining areas.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora–Khanyar–Rainawari line will be observed on June 20, 2026, affecting Miskeen Bagh, Makhdoom Sahib, Rozabal, Hazaribagh, Konabal, Hassanabad, Jogilankar and adjoining areas.
In Awantipora, shutdown of the 33 kV line will be carried out on May 21, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM, affecting Awantipora, Jawbhara, Barsoo, Malangpora, Padgampora, Beighpora, Midoora, Bohu and adjoining areas.
KPDCL has urged consumers across all affected areas to plan accordingly and extend cooperation during the shutdown periods, stating that the works are essential for strengthening and upgrading the power distribution network.
