KPDCL Announces Power Shutdowns in Multiple Areas

   

SRINAGAR: Power supply to several areas across Kashmir will remain affected on different dates due to scheduled shutdowns of 33 KV transmission lines, the Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has informed.

According to the official notice, the 33 KV Alusteng–Zakura line will remain shut on January 31, 2026, resulting in power disruption in Ahmad Nagar, Umerhair and adjoining areas from 11 am to 2 pm.

Besides, shutdown of the Cheshmashahi–TRC–Nedous line will be observed on February 1, 2026, affecting electricity supply to Dal area, Paras Hospital and 33 KV installations of the Rajbagh Tap Line from 10 am to 3 pm.

In addition, the 33 KV Budgam SIDCO Tap Line will remain shut on January 31, 2026, during which power supply to Ompora, Sheikhpora, Housing Colony, Mohanpora, NIFT and adjoining areas will be affected between 12 noon and 3 pm.

Further, the 33 KV Lassipora–Keegam line will observe shutdowns on February 1, 4, 7 and 10, 2026, leading to power disruption in Pakherpora, Rajpora, Rahmoo, Keegam, Gulshanabad, Akhal, Chararipora and nearby areas from 9 am to 3 pm on the specified dates.

The shutdowns are being carried out to facilitate maintenance and related works on the power infrastructure. Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance.
