KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Outages Across Multiple Areas Across Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across multiple areas in Kashmir during March to facilitate maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. The outages will impact several regions, including Srinagar, Pulwama, Awantipora, and Pampore, with power supply disruptions lasting several hours on specified days.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the power shutdowns are necessary for the installation of Distribution Transformer (DTR) structures, laying of Low Tension (LT) cables, stabilization, erection of poles, and preventive maintenance of 33KV lines.

On March 10, from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM, power supply will be disrupted in areas including Zakura, Batpora, Gulab Bagh, Danihama, Khimber, Chaterhama, Teilbal, Burzhama, Gassu, Shoperbagh, and Rahbagh due to work on the 33KV Habbak-Zakura-Burzhama line.

Similarly, on March 6 and 8, the 33KV Awantipora line will undergo maintenance, causing power outages from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at DPL Awantipora and Flour Mills. Additionally, areas such as Pampore, Khrew, Bathen, Wahab Sahab, and others will face disruptions on March 5, due to stabilization work on the 33KV Pampore-Khrew line.

Further, the 33KV Pampore-Lethpora line will be shut down on March 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, affecting power supply in Samboora, Lethpora, Patalbagh, Chandhara, Konibal, and Drusoo. On March 5, the Pampore-Wagoora line shutdown will impact the Gas Turbine and HPCL areas.

Power cuts will also occur on 6 and 8 March in Kakapora, Newa, Gadoora, Parigam, Narbal, Ukhoo, and Marvel due to conductor augmentation work on the 33KV Pampore-Pulwama line. Essential feeders will remain operational through an alternate power source.

Additionally, the Pampore-Pampore line will be shut down on March 5, 8, and 12, affecting Pampore, Zewan, Tengan, JKEDI, and ITBP areas. Industrial units at IE Khrew and Cement Plants will experience outages on the same dates due to work on the 33KV Pampore-SIDCO line.

In Badamibagh, Sonwar, Panthachowk, and Lasjan, power supply will be affected on March 5 and 12 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Furthermore, several villages, including Pinjoora, Arhama, Pahnoo, Trenz, Kilora, and others, will see disruptions on 6 and 9 March due to work on the Kanipora-Pinjoora line.

The upgradation of the 33KV Wanpoh SICOP line will lead to outages in Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veeri, Cheniwader, and nearby areas on March 8, 11, 13, and 16, with power cuts lasting from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
