KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across multiple areas of the Valley between October 15 and 26, 2025, to facilitate maintenance works on several 33 KV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, power supply on the 33 KV Pampore–Pampore and 33 KV Pampore–SIDCO lines will remain suspended on October 16 and 20 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Consequently, Pampore-I, Pampore-II, IE Khrew and Cement Plants of Khrew receiving stations will remain off, affecting supply to Frestabal, Khadermoh, Kadlabal, ITBP, Zewan, JKEDI, Drangbal, Namblabal, Tulbagh, IE Khrew and adjoining areas.

Similarly, a shutdown on the 33 KV Awantipora line will be observed on October 23 and 26 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, affecting power supply to Malangpora, Padgampora, Beighpora, Barsoo and surrounding areas. The Awantipora-I, Awantipora-II, AIIMS, IUST, DPL-Awp, LIS-Rajpora and Mills receiving stations will remain off during the period.

In north Kashmir, shutdowns of the 33 KV Nehalpora–HMT and 33 KV Nehalpora–Markundal lines are scheduled for October 16, 20 and 23 between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM. This will impact the Shadipora, Markundal, Naidkhai and Shahgund receiving stations, disrupting supply to Shadipora, Trigam, Maloora, Panzigam, Markundal, Naidkhai, Sumbal, Gund Boon, Nesbal, Shahgund, Sultanpora, Gund Jehangir and nearby areas.

Likewise, the 33 KV Badampora–Kurhama line will remain shut on October 18 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting Kurhama, Dab and Sainik School receiving stations, and supply to Kurhama, Yongpora, Baroosa, Old Dab, Checki Baba, Salina, Sainik School, Rabitar, Koondbal, GCET Safapora and adjoining areas.

The 33 KV Badampora–Safapora line will be shut down on October 16 and 23 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, impacting supply to Safapora, Gratbal, Jarokabagh, Chewa and nearby areas.

Similarly, power supply on the 33 KV Potushai–Aloosa, 33 KV Bandipora–Ajar, and 33 KV Potushai–Nadihal lines will be affected on October 15, between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, disrupting supply to Aloosa, Manigam, Panzigam, Ajar, Nusoo, Nadihal and Ajas receiving stations, and adjoining localities.

The 33 KV Potushai–Gurez line will remain shut on October 15, 18 and 19 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting supply to Dawar, Wanpora, Tragbal, Peerbaba, Razdan Top and nearby areas.

Additionally, shutdown of the 33 KV Awantipora–Khiram Tap line will be observed on October 15, 19, 21 and 23 between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM, disrupting power to Khiram, Mahind and adjoining areas.

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to take note of the shutdown schedule and plan accordingly. The corporation said these outages are necessary to carry out essential maintenance and strengthening works to ensure reliable power supply during the winter months.
