SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced multiple scheduled shutdowns of 33 KV transmission lines across parts of central and north Kashmir during June 2026, resulting in temporary power interruptions in several areas.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, the 33 KV Rawalpora Airforce line will remain non-operational on June 10, from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, affecting Peerbagh, Humhama, Sheikhpora, Friends Colony, Humhuma Heights, Hyderpora and adjoining localities.
Similarly, the 33 KV Arizal Tapline will be shut on June 11, during the same time period, impacting Arizal, Doodhpathri, Rayiyar and nearby areas. The 33 KV Khanda Tapline is scheduled for outage on June 17, affecting Wagoora, Khanda, Sanzipora and surrounding villages.
In addition, the 33 KV Watrewani Tapline will remain under shutdown on June 18, disrupting supply to Sholipora, Labertal, Perisabad, Dadina and adjoining areas. The 33 KV GIS Tengpora Court line will also be closed on June 21, affecting Moominabad, Batamaloo Ada, Lower Court, Tengpora Chowk and nearby localities.
KPDCL has urged consumers in the affected regions to make advance arrangements, stating that the shutdowns are necessary for maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability of the power distribution system.
Meanwhile, the utility has cancelled the previously planned shutdown of the 33 kV Budgam line scheduled for June 08, 2026, citing operational exigencies.
