KPDCL Announces Series of Power Shutdowns

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has informed that a series of planned shutdowns will be carried out on multiple 33 KV transmission lines across north and south Kashmir over the coming days, resulting in temporary disruption of power supply in several areas.

According to Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 KV LJHP Gantamulla–Uri line will be observed on June 10 and June 13 from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM. During this period, power supply will remain affected in Salamabad, NHPC, MES, TFC, Garkote, Balkote, Uri, Mohura, Rampur, Bani, Bijhama, Dhani and adjoining areas.

On June 10, the 33 KV Nehalpora–Pattan line will also remain under shutdown from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, affecting Pattan, Zangam, Buran, Hamray, Tapper, Wanigam, Tantraypora, MES and nearby localities.

Similarly, the 33 KV Amargarh–Sopore line will be shut on June 11 between 09:00 AM and 03:00 PM, impacting Sopore Hospital, Court Road Sopore, Main Chowk Sopore, Model Town, Sadiq Colony and adjoining areas.

On June 13, the 33 KV Amargarh–Watergam line will remain affected during the same timings, leading to outages in Watergam, Hachipora, Palpora, Behrampora, Dangiwacha and nearby areas. The same date will also see shutdowns on the 33 KV Amargarh–Nowpora line, affecting Mundi, Seelo, Behrampora, Bomai, Nowpora and adjoining localities.

On June 11, the 33 KV Amargarh–Bandipora line will remain shut, affecting Duroo, Watlab, Tujjar, Warpora, Hathlangoo, Arampora, Adipora, Sopore Town-I and Town-III and adjoining areas.

A major interruption is also scheduled on the 33 KV Mattan–Pahalgam line, which will remain shut on June 11, 13, 15, 17 and 20 between 09:00 AM and 03:00 PM. The shutdown will affect District Jail Anantnag, Anantnag town, Seer, Salia, Sallar, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, Pahalgam and surrounding areas.

In south Kashmir, the 33 KV Wanpoh–Ashajipora line will remain shut on June 10 and 13, affecting Ashajipora, Dialgam, Rohu, Mirbazar, Schichen, Brinty, Malaknag, Reshi Bazar, Janlatmandi, Shirpora, Nowgam, Thajiwara, Brakpora and adjoining areas.

The 33 KV Wanpoh–Qazigund–Mir Bazar line will also be affected on June 13 and 15, impacting Mir Bazar, Akhran, Veesu, Qazigund and Kund areas.

Likewise, the 33 KV Wanpoh–Qaimoh line will remain shut on June 11 and 14, affecting Qaimoh, Redwani and adjoining localities.

In north Kashmir, shutdowns on the 33 KV Badampora Wangipora/Safapora Tap line, Badampora Lar line and Badampora Dab line will be observed on June 11 from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM. These interruptions will affect Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Zazna, Ahan, Waskura, Kharbagh, Sumbal, Nesbal, Lar, Watlar, Repora, Dangerpora, Kurhama, Safapora, Sainik School area, Rabitar, Kondbal and adjoining localities.

KPDCL has stated that the shutdowns are necessary for maintenance and upgradation works on the transmission network. The department has urged consumers in the affected areas to plan accordingly in view of the scheduled power disruptions.
