SRINAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the CBI in Srinagar on Monday arrested an employee of the Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) in Magam area of Beerwah, Budgam, for demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant.
An official said that the employee, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Dar, was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000.
He said the complainant had submitted a written complaint alleging that the employee was demanding a bribe for facilitating a power connection to his poultry farm.
“Upon receiving the complaint, ACB Srinagar verified the information and laid a trap. The employee was apprehended red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of ₹4,000. A case, FIR No. 3 of 2025 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, has been registered against him,” the official said. (KNO)
