SRINAGAR: Amidst the ongoing severe heatwave across the Kashmir Valley, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has revised the timing of scheduled shutdowns for several 33kV transmission lines to minimise inconvenience to the public.
According to an official notification issued by the office of the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the shutdown of the 33kV SH Pora line and 33kV Kawdara line, earlier planned for June 28 and 30, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM, will now take place between 08:00 AM and 01:00 PM on the same dates.
Similarly, the power shutdown for the 33kV Mattan-Pahalgam line, which was originally scheduled for June 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, has also been rescheduled to 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM.
KPDCL stated that the changes were made purely in the interest of public convenience, especially in view of the rising daytime temperatures.
The corporation assured that all necessary precautions and advance intimation are being provided to ensure minimal disruption during the execution of essential maintenance and upgradation work.
