SRINAGAR: Several areas of Srinagar will face a scheduled power shutdown on May 2 due to maintenance work at a major grid station, officials said.
The Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, said the shutdown of the 132/33 KV, 100 MVA GIS Khanyar will be carried out, resulting in disruption of electricity supply from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The affected areas include Nowshera, Raja Colony, Industrial Estate BAMK, Zadibal, Hawal, Botakadal, BSNL, Gilkadal, Kathi Darwaza, Rainawari Psychiatric Hospital, PHE, Central Jail, Saida Kadal and adjoining localities.
The shutdown is part of routine maintenance aimed at ensuring reliable power supply, the official added.
