SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Traders Alliance (KTA) has called on the administration led by the Lieutenant Governor to accelerate the progress of smart city projects in Srinagar.

Aijaz Shahdhar, President of KTA, acknowledged the initial speed of work on smart city projects but expressed concern over the sluggish approach after the G20 meeting in Srinagar.

“Smart city projects are spread across Srinagar city, and it is crucial for these projects to be completed promptly. The dug-up roads and footpaths are impeding the movement of the general public and negatively impacting business in the city,” Shahdhar stated in a statement.

He emphasised, “Government agencies should give priority to completing the works undertaken under the smart city initiative.”

Shahdhar further mentioned that they have urged the authorities to expedite the project’s progress, but no action has been taken thus far. He added that the LG administration should prioritize the completion of smart city projects since the ongoing work is adversely affecting businesses in those areas. (KNO)
