On the eve of the International Women’s Day Zamrooda Habib chairperson Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen (KTK) along with many other activists, Thursday staged a protest in Srinagar demanding the justice for the atrocities committed on the women in Kashmir.

The protesters holding banners and placards assembled at press colony, some of the placards were read, “Baby Jan and baby Azra,” “justice for Shahista Hameed, University Student,” “justice for Maisara,” “Justice for Aasifa and Justice for Ratendeep Kaur, the university student.”

“We observe this day as black day “the government commits endless atrocities on the women here and enjoy full impunity,” said one of the protesting activists.

KTK also expressed the anguish over the slow pace of proceedings in the Asifa’s rape and murder case and urged the international community and human rights groups to take immediate steps for justice in the case.
