Kashmir traders and manufacturers federation president Mohammad Yasin Khan on Wednesday called on advisor to Governor Jammu and Kashmir Khurshid Ahmad Ganai and discussed the Rs 800 Cr economic package approved for interest subvention for traders in Kashmir.

“This will benefit the traders availing CC/Loan facility with the financial institutions neglecting other traders,” Khan said requesting the advisor for “more funds to be made available so that every trader is compensated so that business can be revived as its still in struggling stage.”

A statement issued by the federation said that KTMF was committed to seek rehabilitation of flood-hit traders and would fight for the cause till each and every trader is not rehabilitated.

Terming the meeting “fruitful”, Khan hoped that Khurshid Ahmad Ganai would work for the rehabilitation of flood hit traders. “We hope that this dynamic advisor will come up to the expectations of traders in Kashmir,” Khan said after the meeting. “We assure full support to him on all genuine issues which are aimed at benefitting the business fraternity of Kashmir.”

Others who were part of the delegation included Manzoor Bhat, Aslam Matoo, Deen Mohammad Matoo and Waseem Ahmed, the statement added.
