Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) on Monday held a strong protest in Lal Chowk against the civilian killings in south Kashmir.

Scores of Traders assembled near Ganta Ghar Lalchowk raising pro-freedom slogans staged a sit-in at Ganta Ghar. The protesting traders demanded to end the “genocide of Kashmiri people”.

They raised slogans “Stop Genocide of Kashmirs” “Sarkari deshadgardi band karo” and “Kashmiriyoon ka qatl-e-aam bandh karo”.

Later, the traders tried to take out a march towards United Nations headquarters at Sonwar Srinagar. However, the huge contingent of government forces already deployed near Polo view prevented them from marching ahead. Many traders were also detained by forces.

The government forces shot dead thirteen militants and four civilians in three different gunfights in two districts of south Kashmir.
