Students of Law Department in the University of Kashmir on Friday staged a protest outside the main campus demanding deferment of their final exams.
Scores of the students from the seventh and ninth semester of the department blocked the Moulana Rumi gate and raised anti-administration slogans against the varsity’s law department for their decision to hold exams in the first week of February.
According to the protesting students, the exams are scheduled to be held on February 2, 2019. “Despite approaching our Head of the Department (HoD) and other authorities many times, there was no initiative taken by them till now, which forced us to hit the streets today,” said one of the protesting students.
The students sought the authorities’ intervention, and appealed them to look into the “serious matter”.
