Dr Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, called on Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.
Dr Andrabi discussed with the Governor various important issues relating to the functioning of the University and informed him about the response to the State Eligibility Test which was conducted recently, and the status of admissions including those in the offsite campuses of the University, an official spokesperson said this evening.
The Governor re-iterated the importance of the highest academic standards being maintained, alongside the maintenance of strict discipline and decorum by the students and their teachers.
Meanwhile, Nazir Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), met Governor N N Vohra, Chancellor of the University, at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Dr Nazir Ahmad briefed the Governor about several issues relating to infrastructural development, financial stringencies, re-organisation of available staff strength and filling up vacant posts of scientific staff and academic reform. He informed the Governor about the completion of the buildings of Division of Biotechnology and School of Horticulture Business Management at Shalimar Campus.
The Governor and Dr Ahmad also discussed the University’s forthcoming Convocation and the ongoing collaborations with the national and international institutions in arena of research.
