The students of Kashmir University on Wednesday staged a demonstration in solidarity with the professor who was killed during an encounter in Badigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Scores of students and scholars carrying banners marched towards park outside sociology department in the Varsity in favour of slain professor Mohammad Rafi Bhat.
Bhat was killed along with four militants, including Hizb commander Saddam Padder, in Badigam village of the district.
Five civilians were also killed after forces opened fire into protesters who were demonstrating against the death of five militants in Shopian.
