As per the reports of a local news agency, CNS, a special convocation was being organized by Kashmir University to confer degree of doctorate of Science. As the Governor started his address, scores of students left the Convocation Hall and did not hear the address.

The rest of the students, both boys and girls preferred not to stand up and remained seated when India’s National Anthem was played out to formally begin the proceedings of the Convocation.

However, people in the front rows, mostly the faculty members and other guests, stood up when the anthem was being played.
