SRINAGAR: One more militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in the Gudder forest area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, taking the toll to two.
A top police officer said that another militant has been neutralised as forces tightened the cordon in the forest belt. The identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.
The encounter had started earlier in the day when hiding militants opened fire on a joint team of forces during a search operation, triggering a fierce gunfight.
