Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah called for a  shutdown in Bhaderwah and other parts of Chenab valley tomorrow against the civilian killings in Khudwani village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district and against the Jammu Bar Association and some lawyers of Kathua who attempted to prevent the police from filing charge sheet in the Kathua rape-and-murder case.

“We have given a call for a peaceful bandh to lodge our protest against innocent civilian killings in Kashmir, Jammu and Kathua Bar Association for supporting Kathua rape accused,” said President Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhadarwah, Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh while announcing the shut down for Friday from Jamia Masjid Bhaderwah. Anjuman Islamia President alleged that yesterday bandh call given by JBA   was part of a well-thought-out conspiracy to polarize communities in the state by giving a criminal act a communal colour and said it was a politically motivated, obnoxious shutdown in Jammu and a conspiracy to achieve something out of this heinous crime for those hindering the process of justice.

“A criminal is a criminal irrespective of his caste, colour and creed and must be dealt according to law. By evoking emotions and giving communal colour to the rape-and-murder case, fringe elements are committing a heinous crime against humanity,” he said.

Meanwhile, the shutdown has been called in Kishtwar tomorrow against the killing of four civilians in forces’ action in Kulgam district of south Kashmir yesterday.

Reports said that the strike call was issued by Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo.
