An 18-year old boy,  Tamsheel Khan son of Khurshid Ahmad Khan resident of Vehil Kachdoora area of Shopian was injured during the clashes near the gunfight site in Kundalan , succumbed his injuries on way to Srinagar hospital.

Reports said that Khan had suffered bullet wounds in his head after the armed forces fired on protesters near the encounter site.

Khan was shifted to District Hospital Shopian where from he along with seven other persons having bullet injuries were referred to different hospitals in Srinagar.

Khan was taken to SMHS hospital here where doctors declared him dead on arrival, they said.

Earlier, two militants were killed in the gunfight while twenty civilian protesters were injured in the clashes that erupted near the site of the gunfight.

On today early morning, a joint team of army’s 34 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at Kundalan which resulted into the encounter.

Soon after the encounter, massive clashes were witnessed in the Shopian and in parts of Pulwama district.
