Kupwara district in the northern part of Kashmir has bagged Web Ratna Gold award for e-governance initiative under district administration category. Kupwara was among only three districts selected all over India for this award.
Various parameters like informative website, effective and innovative initiatives in service delivery, effective monitoring of schemes, grievance redressal mechanism etc were taken into account by a committee headed by Secretary IT while conferring the award.
Kupwara, North Goa, and Udhamsingh Nagar of Uttrakhand were selected by the committee, while as Kupwara bagged the award.
