Srinagar: The residents of Dardpora area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday complained of bad road conditions in the said area. The residents have demanded the renovation of the road on an immediate basis.

Aghast over a callous approach of authorities, a group of locals while talking to this reporter said that the district administration has failed to macadamize the roads and authorities’  “failure” leads them to suffer on daily basis.

“Residents offered the land for the widening of the road some twenty years back but unfortunately neither the road was repaired nor any other initiative was taken by the government,” said one of the Dardpora resident, Parvaiz Ahmad.

“We request the concerned department to look into the matter and start macadamization of the road as soon as possible,” he added.

The link road, leading to Mir Mohalla, Hajipora, Sheikh Mohalla, Madipora and Ganie Mohalla areas of the villages are also in shambles leading people to suffer, mostly students and elderly persons,”  residents told this reporter.

According to them, they have been requesting the concerned authorities from so long but all in vain. Appealing the district administration and Governor Satya Pal Malik, residents requested the Governor to look into the “serious” issue.
