Kupwara missing boy’s family seeks public help

A sixteen-year-old Umar Taimoor, a class 10th student is allegedly missing from Aligarh Muslim University, UP, a week ago and now his family in Kupwara have appealed authorities and the people to help them in tracing his whereabouts.

Umar, from Kunan village in the Kupwara district, has gone missing from Aligarh a week ago. He had gone to Aligarh for coaching. His relatives told a local news gathering agency, KNS, that after appearing in his matriculation examination he went to Aligarh to attend tuition classes a month ago. However, he did not succeed in the class 10 examination in the recently declared results.

Firdous Ahmad, a relative of the missing boy, said that Umar was living with his cousin brother, a student of Aligarh Muslim University.

“A day after his result, he came back from coaching center at around 1 pm, left his bag at the rented apartment and went outside. But, he did not return after that day,” Ahmad said.

He said the youth’s father, Taimoor Ahmad Sheikh, is currently looking for his son in Aligarh, where he had also filed an information report in the local police station.
