the residents of the north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday broke down a non-functional ATM device for having no cash.

An eyewitness said that the angry residents angered by non-functioning of all the ATMs including JK Bank, SBI, HDFC and PNB in the entire district, the people broke down ATM machine of JK Bank stationed at Hospital road.

The locals also staged strong protests against all these banks and alleged that indifferent attitude has been shown to the people of Kupwara district.

The residents demanded bank authorities to keep cash inside these machines if they are useless then remove them.

Shouting slogans they said that authorities should understand that people need cash all the time and such attitude by authorities can be proven detrimental in exigency situations.(GNS)
