Kashmir University Teachers’ Association (KUTA) on Thursday expressed anguish and concern over the “unabated” incidents of braid chopping occurring in different parts of the Kashmir valley.

In a statement, a spokesperson of KUTA called upon the concerned government agencies to take necessary measures to curb the menace that is instilling fear and insecurity among common masses in general and female folk, staff and students in particular.

“A dreadful atmosphere has been created along the length and breadth of the valley as a result of these insane acts while the culprits continue to remain unidentified and untraced,” he said.

He impressed upon the government to gear up its entire machinery and nab the culprits involved in such heinous acts.
