SRINAGAR: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has raised serious concerns over safety and infrastructure gaps at the temporary campus arranged for KV Namblabal in Pampore, seeking urgent intervention from the district administration in Pulwama.
An official communication issued by PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Batwara on February 23, 2026, states that the temporary facility at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Pampore is lacking several essential safety clearances and basic amenities required for students.
The issues came to light after a joint inspection carried out on February 19, 2026, by officials of the district administration and KVS. While the efforts to arrange interim accommodation were acknowledged, the inspection revealed multiple critical deficiencies affecting the suitability of the premises.
Among the major concerns are the absence of mandatory building and fire safety certificates, inadequate access to safe drinking water, and insufficient water dispensing facilities. The inspection team also pointed out the need for installing urinals in the boys’ washroom and undertaking minor repair works, especially plastering.
The school authorities have urged the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to direct the concerned departments to resolve these deficiencies on priority, stressing that timely action is essential to ensure student safety and proper functioning of the institution.
