Kashmir Working Journalists Association (KWJA) in collaboration with Young Journalists Association, Video Journalists Association, and Kashmir TV Journalists Association staged a candlelight vigil outside Kashmir Press Club, on Monday evening against the assassination of Editor Shujaat Bukhari.

KWJA remembers Shujaat Bukhari, holds a candlelight vigil

Scores of the valley based journalists assembled outside the Press Kashmir’s press club at Polo View in Srinagar, holding candles held a candlelight vigil in solidarity with the slain editor.

On June 14, 2018, around 7:00 pm, Bukhari and his personal security guard were killed by unknown gunmen at Press Enclave.

The unknown gunmen opened indiscriminate fire as Bukhari was disembarking from his vehicle at the press enclave. Bukhari and his PSO were removed to SMHS hospital where both of them were declared as brought dead.
