SRINAGAR: A 38-year-old labourer died after falling from an under-construction house in the Habbak area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Kathoo, son of Ghulam Nabi Kathoo, a resident of Khawaja Bagh, Tailbal.
According to reports, Tariq was engaged in work at a residential construction site in Habbak when he allegedly fell from a height and sustained critical injuries.
Family members said he was immediately taken for medical treatment after the accident, but he succumbed to his injuries before he could be saved.
Doctors at Primary Health Centre Hazratbal declared him brought dead.
Subsequently, police shifted the body to SMHS Hospital for medico-legal and radiological examination.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal fall. [KNT]
