SRINAGAR: The Union Territory Administration of Ladakh has placed three Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers at the disposal of the concerned Deputy Commissioners for election-related duties ahead of the forthcoming Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) and Panchayat elections.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on November 5, 2026, the officers have been assigned to three locations across the Union Territory.
As per Order No. 541-LA(GAD) of 2026, Imtiyaz Rasool, JKAS, has been assigned to Sankoo, Sumera Shafi, JKAS, to Sham, and Arshad Hussain, JKAS, to Zanskar.
The order states that the deployment has been made in the interest of ensuring the smooth and efficient conduct of the forthcoming elections in Ladakh.
The concerned Deputy Commissioners have been directed to assign appropriate election-related responsibilities to the officers and utilise their services as required.
The three officers have also been directed to report to their respective Deputy Commissioners forthwith and perform the duties assigned to them.
