SRINAGAR: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh on Monday ordered a fresh reshuffle of officers, effecting transfers, postings and additional charge assignments in the interest of governance, according to an official order issued by the General Administration Department.
As per Order No. 155-LA (GAD) of 2026 dated March 23, 2026, the government partially modified its earlier Order No. 111-LA (GAD) of 2026 dated February 28, 2026, directing immediate changes in the deployment of JKAS officers until further orders.
Under the new arrangements, the Tehsildar of Durbuk, who was also holding the additional charge of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Durbuk, has been transferred and posted as Block Development Officer (BDO) Leh. The officer will also hold the additional charge of District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Leh.
Meanwhile, the Tehsildar of Diskit has been transferred and posted as Tehsildar Durbuk, with additional charge of SDM Durbuk. Further, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate concerned has been assigned the additional charge of Tehsildar Diskit.
In a separate development, Akeel Sajjad, JKAS, who was serving as BDO Leh with additional charge of DPO Leh, has been transferred and posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the office of the Chief Secretary, UT of Ladakh.
The order also stated that the previous posting of Tundup Namgail as OSD in the office of the Chief Secretary has been withdrawn.
