SRINAGAR: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has ordered a reshuffle of senior police officers and appointed new Superintendents of Police (SPs) across newly created districts to strengthen administrative and law enforcement structures.
According to an official order issued by the Home Department, five officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) have been transferred with immediate effect in view of the formation of five new districts in the Union Territory.
Stanzin Losal has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Nubra district, while retaining additional charge as Senior Superintendent of Police (CID). Aijaz Malik has been appointed SP of Sham district and will continue to hold his existing responsibilities as Staff Officer to the Director General of Police and SP SDRF/CD/HG.
Rigzin Sangdup has been transferred from Leh and posted as SP of Zanskar district. Ishtiyaq A Kacho, previously serving in Kargil, has been appointed SP of Drass district. Meanwhile, Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari has been posted as SP of Changthang district and will continue to hold additional charge as Senior Superintendent of Prisons at Police Headquarters, Ladakh.
The order, issued from the UT Secretariat in Leh, stated that all officers are deemed relieved from their current postings with immediate effect and have been directed to assume charge at their new places of posting without delay.
