The incarcerated Hurriyat Conference (g) and chairperson of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah, on Monday expressed grief over the brutal killing of civilians mostly women and children in a bomb blast that took place outside Lahore Park in Punjab, Pakistan, on Sunday late evening and left more than 60 dead and hundreds injured.

In a statement issued here, Shah termed the attack as “extreme of brutality and barbarism, which is extremely condemnable”.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir express their condolence and sympathy with the families, whose kith and kin were martyred in the attack,” he said, “who better than Kashmiris can understand the plight of the affected families!”

Terming the attack as a crime and challenge to humanity, Shah said such the perpetrators “can in no way be called as humans” and such acts are unacceptable.

He said Pakistan government must rise to evict the terrorism that has plagued the country and teach a befitting lesson to the enemies.

Shah expressed solidarity with the families of the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured persons. He also sympathised with the government of Pakistan and its people and prayed for security of the nation.
