Scores of people Monday staged a protest here alleging that land mafia have grabbed grave yard in Gulab Bagh Hazratbal area of Srinagar city.
The protesters who assembled in press enclave Srinagar said that a particular community supported by land mafia have already grabbed local grave yard measuring 16 kanals.
“The scrupulous elements have not only illegally and unconstitutionally grabbed the grave yard but are also eying on the state land. The irony is that the mafia have already sold some kanals of land to private parties,” one of the protesters told CNS.
The protesters appealed Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and Revenue authority to look into the matter and initiate action the vested interest elements.
