SRINAGAR: A landslide that blocked a road in the border Uri belt has left a baraat stuck in between. Since Thursday night, the groom along with his baraat and a number of vehicles is waiting for the clearance of the road so that he could go and get his bride.
Details revealed that the landslide hit the road at Choolan on the Mohra Baaz Road last evening. The road was ailing for a long time and the residents said they have been going from pillar to post to tell the authorities that it needs some quick repairs. The road is managed by the border roads organisation. Authorities did intervene but cleared part of the debris and not the boulders that were hanging overhead.
Last evening the rains brought these boulders down and the road was blocked.
