Srinagar

Following the landslides due to the fresh spell of rain in the state, the Srinagar Jammu highway was blocked on Monday after landslides hit the highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The traffic spokesman said that today afternoon a landslide hit the highway at Kharpora Ramban forcing the authorities to close the traffic movement. However, he said men and machinery are on the job to make the road motorable.

Meanwhile, the traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway continued to move from one side, and today the traffic movement was allowed from Srinagar to Jammu.

Earlier, the Kashmir highway-only link route connecting Kashmir valley to rest of the world remained closed for more than a week.
