The landslide brought mud, boulders and debris onto the highway, forcing authorities to restrict and regulate traffic as clearance operations were launched.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), assisted by local teams, pressed men and machinery into service to remove the debris and reopen the affected portion of the highway.

Traffic was also impacted around Jakhani and Dewal-Samroli, where vehicles were being managed through intermittent stoppages, single-lane passages and controlled movement based on the condition of the road.

Officials urged commuters to exercise caution while travelling through the affected stretches and avoid unnecessary journeys until conditions improve and the road is declared safe for unrestricted movement.

Motorists travelling towards Kashmir have been advised to check the latest traffic advisories before setting out and remain alert while passing through landslide-prone sections of the highway.
