SRINAGAR: After shooting stones and landslides hit the Chadya ward 4 of Zamoorpatan area of North Kashmir’s Uri twenty three families were shifted to safer places at Zamborpatan village in Uri.

“In past few years a number of houses were partially damaged due to these shooting stones and landslides mostly during wet weather,” the sarpanch of Zamoorpatan said.

Lauding the efforts of the administration he stated that they acted swiftly and shifted families living very close to the site to safer places and provided shelter and food as well.

Further, he made an appeal to DC Baramulla to take steps in order to stop the shooting stones and warned that it can take a heavy toll on human and animal lives anytime.
