Landslides caused due to incessant rains caused heavy landslides on vital Srinagar-Muzafarabad highway in North Kashmir’s Baramulla.

Reports and local sources said that landslides occurred at Khanpora point on way to Uri in Baramulla. “The road was blocked since late Monday evening when landslides occurred near Khanpora,” report said.

They added that there is stone quarry on the other side of the hill where this land-sliding has occurred.

“The district officials are on the spot and they are on job clearing the debris, however, heavy rocks are continuously rolling down the hill,” reports said.

“The officials have allowed vehicles to pass but with caution,” sources said. The road remained completely closed up to 8 in the morning.
