One thousand people living in village Tilawari, are trapped in their area from last one week after landslides locked them from all the sides, sources said on Friday.

They added that locking due to landslides has endangered the lives of the inhabitants but fact of the matter is that nobody from civil administration can’t go to the rescue of the villagers because it is situated on the zero line along the Line of Control (LoC).

“We are exclusively dependent on army but today when we are in danger army also did not bother to reach us,” Ayaz Ahmad Mir, a resident of Tilawari told Kashmir Life.

Ayaz had to travel 14 KMs extra to reach Uri, from the locked village which is otherwise only 8 KMs away from the Uri town. “I had to travel for almost a day to reach Uri, our all the entry and exit points are closed,” Ayaz said.

The village had a traditional route to reach to Uri crossing Haji Pir, Nalla but a temporary bridge on the Nalla also was drowned.

When asked about the trapped people Ayaz said, “The condition of old and the children is miserable.”
