SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Z-Morh Tunnel, a vital infrastructure project connecting Ganderbal to Sonamarg, paving the way for year-round connectivity to the picturesque valley. A massive and enthusiastic crowd has gathered at Sonmarg to witness the event and hear the Prime Minister’s address, marking a significant milestone in Jammu and Kashmir’s development.
The Z-Morh Tunnel is expected to drastically reduce travel time, boost tourism, and enhance the local economy by making the area more accessible, especially during the winter months when roads were previously blocked. Locals are optimistic about the long-term benefits of the project.
“It is great to see the PM here and hear him. The tunnel will benefit the locals as the road will now remain open during winters. I am eagerly waiting for the PM’s speech,” a resident said.
Security has been heightened in the area to ensure smooth proceedings. Several dignitaries, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, and senior officials, are present at the venue.
The event has drawn locals and visitors from across the country, underscoring the excitement surrounding this transformative infrastructure initiative. Prime Minister Modi is set to address the gathered crowd shortly. (With KINS Inputs)
