Voting for the 5th and final phase of J&K Assembly Elections has commenced in the 20 constituencies today including 63- Bani, 64-Basohli, 65-Kathua, 66-Billawar, 67-Hiranagar (SC), 70- Nagrota, 71-Gandinagar, 72-Jammu East, 73-Jammu West, 74-Bishnah, 75-R S Pura (SC), 76-Suchetgarh, 77-Marh, 78-Raipur Domana(SC), 79, Akhnoor, 80-Chhamb(SC),81-Nowshara, 82- Darhal, 83-Rajouri and 84- Kalakote spread across three districts of Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri.
Despite cold weather, people were seen marching towards the polling booths and long queues of electorate were seen outside the polling booths to exercise their franchise.
In Bishnah constituency at polling station 27, out of the total 640 votes, 72 have already been cast in the first hour of polling. At polling Station 28, out of 706 votes, 81 have already been cast.
Similarly, in Suchategarh constituency, at polling station 23, out of 1009, 107 have already been cast, whereas, in polling station 28, out of 940 votes, 122 have already been cast during the first hour.
Meanwhile, a government spokesperson informed that an overall poll percentage up to ten in the morning remained 12.09 %.
