SRINAGAR: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Devyani Rana, daughter of the late Devender Singh Rana, as the youth wing vice-president for its Jammu and Kashmir unit.
According to a communiqué, the nomination was made by BJYM JK president Arun Prabhat in consultation with the party’s JK president, Sat Sharma, and general secretary (Organisation), Ashok Kaul.
Devyani Rana is the daughter of the late Devender Rana, a four-time legislator from Nagrota, who passed away on 31 October last year.
Quoting sources, KNO reported that she is likely to be the BJP’s candidate for the Nagrota assembly seat, previously represented by her father.
