Days after the Delhi Police Crime Branch showed up in Rajouri’s Attai village to detain a government teacher on “spying charges”, the family has now come on records saying that their son was framed in a fake case.

“My brother Mohammad Sabar was arrested from our home,” Muhammad Azim told Delhi-based Mail Today. “He didn’t escape after police came to our house. He only slipped on the ground and got fractured, and it was portrayed that he jumped from the window.”

Azim said if someone is guilty, he should be arrested but “I believe allegations against our brother are baseless. I am proud of my brother, and I know he is not involved in any case. Time will prove us right.”

Both JK and Delhi police have made four arrests so far in the “spying network” they link with Pakistan’s ISI. Among the detained persons include a paramilitary trooper and army personnel who participated in Kargil War.

Lately, this past Saturday, a team of Delhi Police conducted a raid at a village Attai close to Rajouri town and arrested Mohammad Saber. The police had alleged that Saber in a bid to evade the arrest jumped from his house and suffered injuries—the version Sabar’s family denies.
